Meet Your Teacher
Hi! My name is Mrs. Flohr and I am SO excited to be your Kindergarten teacher! It is going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures and I can’t wait to see what the year has in store for us. I want to know ALL about you, but first I’m going to tell you a few things about me.
I grew up in Wayne, a small town in northeast Nebraska. When I graduated high school, I continued my education in my hometown by attending Wayne State College. I majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I also received my master’s degree for Reading PreK-12 to be a reading specialist from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2011. You will quickly learn that teaching reading is my passion and I cannot wait to share that with you! Last year, I decided to continue my education and was accepted in the Doane Leadership Program to obtain a second master’s degree in Educational Administration, which I will finish in May of 2016.
This will be my tenth year of teaching. Before coming to Eagle, I taught at Conestoga Public Schools in Murray and Millard Public Schools in Omaha. I then married my best friend, Ron and moved to Lincoln and began teaching Kindergarten at Eagle Elementary. This will be my seventh year teaching at Eagle and this has definitely been my ABSOLUTE favorite of all the grades and schools I have taught at! I love Kindergarten because I get to watch you grow so much throughout the year and I have the opportunity to be a part of your first year in school…it’s such an amazing place to be!
My husband, Ron works for Eyecare Specialties in Lincoln and we have two beautiful daughters. Gianna is our energetic four year old who loves to sing, dance, and ride her bike and Harper is our sweet and funny two year old who loves animals and climbing on everything. We also have a Bernese Mountain Dog who weighs 90 pounds! Our puppy’s name is Mya and she is our “Gentle Giant”.
I cannot wait to learn and grow with you this upcoming school year. You will get to learn tons of new things, including how to read!! We learn in many different ways throughout the year. You will find out right away that I LOVE to teach with music and songs so we will be singing and dancing all day long!
