On Friday, the students celebrated Valentine's Day by dancing to "Hey Baby" and the "Cupid Shuffle" in the gym with the entire school. We followed this up with a party in our classroom that included games, snacks, and Valentines. Thank you to Mrs. Kroese for planning a fun-filled afternoon! I am also including a few pictures of what the Kindergarten students think love is...
On Friday, January 24th, our class celebrated the 100th day of school. What a spectacular day it was as our Kindergartners were transformed into superheroes for the day! They made capes at home with 100 items on them in honor of our favorite superhero "Zero the Hero" whom we celebrate every ten days as we add another 0 to our hundreds chart. We also celebrated with 100th day stations, a special snack with 10 of 10 items, and special art project using the number 100. Here are some pictures of our fun-filled day: Wow! Talk about a busy month of December and end of November, apparently it was so busy I never had time to sit down and share it with you all on here! We had too much fun to keep it to ourselves. Here is an update of everything you may have missed! We ended November with our annual Books and Bagels with Mom celebration (I know this seems like so long ago now!). The students enjoyed breakfast, books, a turkey art project, and songs with their Moms or other special guests. Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy: On the last day before Thanksgiving break, we had our very own Thanksgiving feast with Mrs. Micek's Kindergarten class. Each contributed to the feast. Our class made Skillet Cornbread and Mrs. Micek's class made Stone Soup. We also shared the "Thanksgiving Story" by retelling it using beads and pipe cleaners (hopefully the kids shared this with you). Here are a few pictures from our celebration (as you can see, it was also Hat Day that day): At the beginning of December, we celebrated the wedding of the letters Q and U. We learned that U always follows Q and we wanted to help the students remember this forever! It was a joyous occasion filled with fancy clothes, laughter, dancing, and delicious cake (made by Mrs. Sabin, a 2nd grade teacher at Eagle). We were lucky enough to have Mrs. Heusman play the part of the letter U and Dr. Heimann play the part of the letter Q. Hopefully this will be a day that the students never forget! At the end of December, we went on an adventure when our gingerbread cookies went missing! Be sure to watch the video to find out what happened! |
